Beverly M. Thornton, 52, of Victory Street, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away unexpectedly at 3:45 p.m. on Monday, April 19, in her residence. Mrs. Thornton was born on May 19, 1947, in Maysville, Ky., as the daughter of Russell and Betty (Bremel) Gilvin. She was preceded in death by her father, Russell.

On March 12, 1966, in Mishawaka, as the former Beverly Gilvin, she married John Thornton. Mrs. Thornton is survived by her husband John of 34 years; two sons, Shawn (Lesli) Thornton of Charleston, W.Va., and Troy (Stephanie) Thornton of Schofield, Wis.; five grandchildren, Jonathan Thornton, Katie Thornton, Megan Thornton, Caleb Thornton and Kyleigh Thornton; her mother, Betty Gilvin of Mishawaka; and by four sisters, Sue Mann of Mishawaka, Connie Paridaen of Osceola, Ind., Gail Stamper of Mishawaka and April Wolfe of Indianapolis, Ind. Mrs. Thornton was a member of Twin Branch Bible Church, Mishawaka.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today, April 21, in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 West 8th Street, Mishawaka. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 22, in Twin Branch Bible Church, with Rev. Daniel Boes officiating. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.

In lieu of flowers, Mrs. Thornton's family requests contributions in memory of Mrs. Thornton be made to Twin Branch Bible Church, 3807 Vistula Road, Mishawaka, IN 46544.
