Roy E. Thornburg

March 4, 1908-April 24, 1994

MISHAWAKA - Roy E. Thornburg, 86, formerly of Jefferson Home Court, died at 8:55 a.m. Sunday in Fountainview Place. Mr. Thornburg was a concert pianist, a music teacher for more than 50 years and was at

the South Bend Conservatory for more than 30 years. Mr. Thornburg was born March 4, 1908, in Bremen. On Nov. 15, 1945, in Bourbon, he married Dorothy M. Laemle. She died Sept. 9, 1988. Surviving are a daughter, Sharon L. Shaner of Indianapolis; a son, Lester D. of Denver; and three grandchildren. He was an Army veteran of World War II.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Hollis-Orvis-Palmer

Funeral Home, South Bend. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Chapel Church.
