Mr. Robert Lamont Thompson, 41,
loving father, grandfather, son, brother and uncle, who resided
on North College Street, South Bend, Ind., passed away at 5:11
a.m., Friday, Nov. 2, in Brownsburg, Ind. Robert, son of Robert
L. Thompson and Linda N. Cotton, was born in Buchanan,
Mich., on July 12, 1960.
Coming from Buchanan, he moved to South Bend
38 years ago and attended the South Bend community schools. His
memory will be cherished by three daughters, Nakisha R. Thompson
of South Bend, Crystal R. Buchanan of Mesa, Ariz., and
Tiffany R. Bloch of Elkhart, Ind.; two sons, Carton Bloch
and Thomas Bloch, both of Elkhart; four grandchildren, Tori McGee,
Tianna McGee, Brittnei Buchanan and Xavier Buchanan; his mother,
Linda Nell Cotton of South Bend; a special father, Leroy Campbell
of Long Beach, Calif.; a brother, Willie Reese Bradshaw;
three sisters, Toni Faye Maefield, Beverly Ann (Joseph) Wingo
and Rhonda Lee Campbell, all of South Bend; aunts, Johnnie Mae
Lockett of Fort Wayne, Ind., Elizabeth Jenkins and
Delores Goodloe, both of Mississippi; uncles, Manuel Moten
of Buchanan, Ben Collier of Indianapolis, Ind., Jock Robinson
of Henderson, Tenn., Herbert Thompson, Leonard Thompson and James
Thompson, all of Jackson, Miss.; great-aunts, Amy Lott of
Jackson, Mich., Lucille Strong and Mildred Strong, both of
Detroit, Mich., Maude Thompson and Ernestine Williams,
both of Buchanan; 36 nieces and nephews; 41 great-nieces and
nephews; along with other relatives and friends. He was preceded
in death by his father, Robert Lee Thompson III; his maternal
grandparents, Arlis and Annie Bell Moten; his paternal
grandparents, Robert and May D. Thompson; and two aunts, Addie
Faye Hinds and Juanita Weston.
Funeral services for Mr. Thompson will be
held at noon Thursday, Nov. 8, in River of Life Family Church,
with Pastors Ralph and Margaret Parker officiating. Friends may
call one hour prior to the service in the church. Interment will
follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola, Ind.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Alford's
Mortuary.
