Dr. Robert Arthur Thompson, MD, 80,
of Primrose Road, South Bend, died Saturday morning in Regency
Place Nursing Home. He was born Dec. 12, 1921, in Indianapolis to
Delbert and Dorothy (Kesler) Thompson who preceded him in
death. Dr. Thompson has lived in South Bend since 1948 after
coming from Somerset, Pa.
On Dec. 5, 1943, in Calvary United Methodist
Church in Somerset, he married Marjorie L. Ling who
survives along with two daughters, Sharon L. (Tom) Brown
of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Sandra K. (David) Becker of South
Bend and three grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3,
in Gospel Center Missionary Church, 930 S. 30th St., South Bend.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in the HICKEY
Funeral home, 17131 Cleveland Road, 289-1000. Dr. Thompson was a
member of Gospel Center Missionary Church and the American
Medical Association, and a World War II Air Force Captain.
