MISHAWAKA - Martha C. Thomas, 96, of 1817 Margaret Ave., died at 10 a.m. Monday in the home of her friend at 1312 E. 11th St. of natural causes. Mrs. Thomas was born Sept. 23, 1898, in Ghent, Belgium. She married Fred DeMuer in Mishawaka. He died in 1958. She then married Merle Thomas in Mishawaka. He survives with a stepson, Merle M. Thomas of Naples, Fla.; two grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a brother, Morse VanNevel of Bremen.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main St. Entombment will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home.
