SOUTH BEND - Margaret J. "Marge" Thomas, 85, of
South Bend, passed away on Thursday, May 8, 2008, in her
daughter's home. She was born on February 3, 1923, in South Bend,
to the late Stanely P. and Marie (Kolisinski) Latosinski,
and was a lifelong area resident.
On August 2, 1947 she married Ralph J.
Thomas, who preceded her in death on May 12, 1982. Marge is
survived by her daughter, Joann (Brian) Rearick of South
Bend; her sons, James of Ft. Wayne, John (Sheri) of Mishawaka, IN
and Bob of South Bend; eight grandchildren, Caira Brinker,
Bobby Thomas, Stacie Thomas, all of South Bend, Cary Schiff
of Seattle, WA, Shelly Krall, Bryan Schiff, Valarie and
Matthew Rearick, all of South Bend; nine great-grandchildren,
Cameron Thomas, Tiffany Wagoner, Tyler and Taylor Thomas,
Sarah and Alex Krall, Dylan Schiff and Taylor and Hannah Brinker;
and by a brother, Richard (Virginia) Latosinski of Granger, IN.
Marge and her husband Ralph were the owners of The Pendle Pub in
Roseland. Mrs. Thomas then went on to manage The Morrow's Nut
House Candy Shop in University Park Mall. In 2000 she retired
from Montgomery Ward after 14 years of service.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday,
May 11, 2008, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix
Drive, South Bend. Funeral services for Marge will be held at 1
p.m. Monday, May 12, 2008, in the funeral home, where friends may
visit for one hour prior to the service. Entombment will follow
in St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend. Memorial contributions may be
