MISHAWAKA - Russel W. Thielking, 83, passed away on Monday, March
1 in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center. Russel was born on
August 14, 1926 in Batesville, IN to Louis and Marie (Siebert)
Thielking. He was preceded in death by his parents and two
brothers, Allen and Edward Thielking. On September 10, 1949 in
Batesville, IN he married the former Patricia Craig. Surviving
are his loving wife, Patricia; daughter, Cynthia (David) Fisher
of Osceola; sons, Thomas (Beth) Thielking of Kalamazoo, MI, Mark
Thielking of South Bend and Robert (Elizabeth) Thielking of
Goshen; nine grandchildren, Ben (Halie) Fisher, Rebecca (Robert)
Gromala and Elizabeth Fisher, Andrew, Matthew, Megan, Steven,
Alex and Lela Thielking; three great grandchildren and a brother,
Marvin Thielking of Batesville, IN. He was a teacher at Main and
Emmons Junior High and a vice principal at Emmons and Mishawaka
High School. He retired in 1988. He was a Veteran of the United
States Navy, serving his country during WWII. Russel was a member
of East United Methodist Church, the Retired Teachers Union,
Lions Club and the V.F.W. A Memorial service for Russel will be
held on Saturday, March 6 at 2:00 p.m., with visitation from
12:00 to 1:00 p.m., at East United Methodist Church, Mishawaka,
with Rev. Mark Zerkel officiating. Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th
Street, Mishawaka has been entrusted with handling the
arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be
made to East United Methodist Church, 1621 East 3rd St.,
