MISHAWAKA - Fred J. Theede, 85, of Jamestown Court, died of natural causes at 5:55 a.m. today in his home. Mr. Theede retired in 1972 as owner/operator of Fritz's Tavern, Wyatt, after 23 years of service. He was born Dec. 22, 1910, in Schleisweig-Holstein, Germany, and had lived in Mishawaka since 1925.

In South Bend he married Opal A. Lampin. She survives with a daughter, Sharon Oste of San Diego; a granddaughter, Sandra A. Webb of San Diego; and four sisters, Dorothy Forshey and Hertha Forslund, both of South Bend, Frieda Slisz of Mishawaka, and Ann Granat of Whittier, Calif. A son, Fred C., died in 1986. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Woodland.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main St.
