Sister Miriam Augusta (Teresa Margaret Teders) CSC, 98, was born in Kendallville, Noble County, Ind., to August Joseph and Agnes Cecilia Meyers Teders. She attended public school in Kendallville and worked as secretary to the superintendent of schools after a short course of study at the Indiana State Normal School, Muncie, Ind.
Sister entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross February 1930, made her first profession August 1932, and final profession August 1935. She trained as a teacher and taught in elementary schools in Indiana, St. Patrick's, East Chicago, St. Mary's, Union City, Saint Mary's, Michigan City, and Saint Mary's, Anderson, St. Vincent de Paul, Logansport, principal and teacher at St. Patrick's, and teacher at St. Joseph's, South B end, and Queen of All Saints, Michigan City. She received her master of arts degree in education from Notre Dame University, Notre Dame, Ind. In Illinois she taught at Holy Redeemer, Evergreen Park, and did library/office work; she was principal and teacher at St. Theodore, Chicago, Ill.
Sister did parish visiting in the South Bend area until she retired to Saint Mary's campus. She was active in community service to the sisters and to the Ministry of Prayer until her death. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sisters of the Holy Cross Ministry with the Poor Fund, Saint Mary's, Notre Dame, IN 46556.
Reception and wake services will be at 4 p.m. today, Nov. 9, with visitation until 6 p.m. in the church of Loretto, Saint Mary's, Notre Dame. Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, in the Church of Loretto, Saint Mary's, Notre Dame. The Kaniewski Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
