Sister M. Agnes Cecile Teders CSC,
93, of Saint Marys Convent, died at 6 a.m. Friday in the
convent after a lengthy illness. Born Cecilia Agnes Teders Oct.
10, 1894 in Avilla, Ind., she entered the Congregation of the
Sisters of the Holy Cross at St. Marys on June 29, 1919.
She was received as a novice on Jan. 6, 1920 and professed her
vows on Jan. 6, 1922. She was assigned to teaching in elementary,
secondary and college divisions of education throughout her
community life from 1922 to 1937, when she was appointed
supervisor of elementary school in the Eastern Province. In 1938
she was appointed to Administration in Education Departments of
St. Marys College and Academy. At that time she took up
residence at Our Lady of Holy Cross Convent here and continued to
serve in social service work. She came to St. Marys Convent
in 1979. Survivors include a sister, Sister Miriam Augusta CSC of
St. Marys Convent.
Resurrection will be celebrated in the
Church of Loretto with internment in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery.
Friends may call Sunday and Monday in St. Marys Convent,
where a wake will be at 7 p.m. Sunday.
