Tommy D. Taylor, 53, of 2026 Tea Rose
Lane, Mishawaka, Ind., died of natural causes at 2:30 p.m.
Saturday, Nov. 3, in the Indiana University Medical Center,
Indianapolis, Ind. He fought a courageous battle with cancer.
He is survived by a fiancé, Genelle Gappa
of Mishawaka; two sons, Tommy Taylor of Rolling Prairie, Ind.,
and James Williamsen of Chicago, Ill.; two daughters, Teri
Taylor of Mishawaka and Ericka Taylor of West LaFayette, Ind.;
his father, Howard Thomas Taylor of Granger, Ind.; three
brothers, Gary Taylor of Mishawaka, Charlie Taylor of Mishawaka
and Dennis Taylor of Mishawaka; six sisters, Linda Stouder
of New Carlisle, Ind., Vicki Maley of Dowagiac, Mich.,
Connie Quier of Elkhart, Ind., Peggy Oberley of
Bremen, Ind., Marti Guess of North Liberty, Ind., and
Wendy Willis of Elkhart; and by grandchildren, Justin Miramontes
and Austen Taylor. He was preceded in death by his mother,
Frances Taylor.
He was a brick mason for 33 years. He will
be best remembered for his expert masonry craftsmanship and the
many buildings in the community that remain as a tribute to his
work. He spent many years coaching and playing softball, and was
an avid White Sox fan. He loved spending his time golfing and
bowling with his long-time friends, and was an avid Notre Dame
fan.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the
Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 North Main Street, Mishawaka,
where friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. today. Memorial
contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
