Kevin D. Taylor, 31, of Kinyon
Street, South Bend, Ind., was pronounced dead at 12:10 a.m.
Monday, Dec. 24, of massive head injuries sustained after walking
into traffic on Indiana 2 where he was struck by a car. Kevin was
born June 27, 1970, in South Bend, to Howard and Linda (Wilhelm)
Taylor, and was a lifetime area resident. He was preceded in
death by his father, Howard "Snookie" Taylor; and two
brothers, Howard Leroy Taylor and Curtis D. Kendall.
He is survived by a daughter, Jada Taylor of
Spokane, Wash.; a son, Kevin D. Taylor Jr. of South Bend; his
mother, Linda Lowe of Mishawaka, Ind.; four sisters,
Cheryl Ann Taylor and Shelly Ameigh of South Bend, and Lee
Ann Wyrick and Yvonne Towne of Mishawaka, Ind.;
three brothers, James K. Taylor and Terry Vincent of South
Bend, and Roger Vincent of Osceola, Ind.; his aunt, Jeannie Peden
of South Bend; and by his best friend, Hank Carillo of
South Bend. Kevin was employed as a pipe-fitter for Plumbers and
Pipefitters Local #172 in South Bend of which he was a member. He
loved participating in many activities including water and snow
skiing, skydiving, fishing, and listening to country and rock and
roll music. He also had a tremendous love for his children.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m.
Saturday, Dec. 29, in the Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William
Street, with Rev. Terry Parker of Michiana Community Church
officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. Friends may
call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today, Dec. 28, in the funeral
home.
