Verna E. Tavernier, 65, of 208 Lake View Drive, died this morning in Meridan Nursing Center East Lake.

She was born July 18, 1898 in Mishawaka, and was married to Otto E. Tavernier on June 22, 1932 in Mishawaka. He died Jan. 29, 1969. Surviving is a daughter, Mrs. Joseph (Verna Ann) Huffman of Elkhart; one son Edward W.; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. One brother is deceased

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home, officiated by pastor of Osolo United Missionary Church. Burial will be in Rice Cemetery. Friends may call in the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
