Stephen J. Tarr, 56, of Park South
Boulevard., South Bend, died at 3:10 p.m., Tuesday, at St.
Joseph's Medical Center, South Bend, from injuries sustained in
an automobile accident Tuesday morning. Steve was born on March
24, 1940 in South Bend, and was a lifelong area resident.
He is survived by his wife, the former
Sharon Pacala, whom he married on May 19, 1962 in South
Bend. Also surviving are two sisters, Margaret Prentkowski
and Pearl Romano, both of South Bend; a brother, Michael
Tarr of Elkhart; along with several nieces and nephews. He was
preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph Tarr in 1988 and George
Tarr in 1995.
Services will be at Queen of Peace Catholic
Church in Mishawaka at 10 a.m., Friday. Friends may call at the
Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home in Mishawaka from 2 to 8 p.m.,
today, where there will also be a vigil service at 4 p.m.
Entombment will follow the services at Chapel Hill Memorial
Gardens, Osceola.
Steve had been employed by the Bayer
Corporation for the past 26 years as a supervisor. He was a
member of the Bayer/Miles Tuesday Evening Golf League, and a
former Army Reservist.
Memorial contributions may be made to the
American Cancer Society, Hospice of St. Joseph County, or to the
Alzheimer's Association.
