Mary Talarico

SOUTH BEND - Mary Talarico, 89, of East Ewing Avenue, died at 9:45 p.m. Wednesday in St. Joseph's Medical Center of natural causes. Mrs. Talarico was born July 20, 1905, in Joliet, Ill., and lived in South Bend from 1939 to 1960 and returned to South Bend in 1965, coming from Joliet.

On Sept. 1, 1929, in Joliet, as Mary Varmesko, she married Joseph Talarico. He died in 1965. She is survived by three daughters, Lois Coker, Jean Mabry, and Lorraine Werntz, all of South Bend; 17 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. She was a member of St. Matthew Cathedral and rosary society.

Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday in St. Anthony Catholic Church, Joliet. Burial will be in Joliet. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Forest G. Hay Funeral Home, 435 S. Ironwood Drive, where a parish rosary will be said at 4 p.m.
