driving a school bus for Penn-Harris-Madison School corporation
for 25 years. Gloria had worked at Ball Band in earlier years and
Hogue Enterprises. In her healthier years, during the summer,
Gloria loved tanning outside in the sunshine and taking care of
her pretty flowers. During the winter months, and when her
husband, Bob was alive, he would accompany her to the local
tanning place so she could tan indoors while he read his
"Outdoor Life" magazines. She also enjoyed making her
house pretty. Prior to her husband's death, Gloria loved
traveling with Bob (aka "Hawk Feather" - part of the
Turtle Clan) to the various "Mountain Men" rendezvous
in parts of Indiana, Wyoming, etc. Gloria always enjoyed her
family's gatherings, as her parents and siblings with their
spouses and children lived very close by. She also enjoyed taking
trips with her sisters and others. In her healthier years, Gloria
was a Sunday School and a Bible School teacher for many years at
Saint Mark's Missionary Church in Mishawaka and Gospel Center
Church in South Bend, as well as singing in the church choir,
driving the church Minivan, and being involved in many church
projects. Gloria was always a very sweet and gentle spirit who
loved to share affection, even through her last years of great
physical difficulty.
