Carl Edward Taff, 80, of Early Road,
Mishawaka, Ind., passed away at his residence at 3:50 p.m. on
Wednesday, Nov. 24. Carl was born on Jan. 17, 1919 in Lake City,
Ark., to John H. and Ida F. (Radley) Taff, who both
preceded him in death.
On July 9, 1942 in Lubbock, Texas, Carl
married Eva Juanita Mabry, who preceded him in death on
Dec. 18, 1998. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Ross
Taff; and by a sister, Louis Ousterhout. Carl leaves to
cherish his memory his son, Ed. D. (Sue) Taff of Mishawaka, Ind.;
two grandchildren, Michael (Johnna) Taff of South Bend, Ind. and
Mikki (Scott) Campbell of Mishawaka; four
great-grandchildren, Marissa and James Campbell of Mishawaka, and
Ciara and Jacob Taff of South Bend; and many nieces and nephews.
Carl served in the U.S. Army and then the
U.S. Army Air Corps as a Technician Sergeant during World War II
and was honorably discharged in 1945. He worked for South Bend
Escam as an electrician for over 35 years and retired in 1986.
Carl was a member of the Mishawaka Masonic Post #130, Scottish
Rite in South Bend, Eastern Star, and Antioch Baptist Church in
Mishawaka as a song leader.
Friends may visit from 6 to 8 p.m. today at
the Chapel Hill Funeral Home with Masonic Services at 7 p.m.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday in the Chapel
Hill Funeral Home, with Pastor Dave Stauffer from New Life Church
officiating. Entombment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial
Gardens, Osceola, Ind. Memorial donations may be made to St.
Joseph Hospice, Sunnybrook Drive in South Bend.
