SOUTH BEND - Genevieve V. ''Jean'' Szekely, 80, of South Grant Street, died at 2:45 a.m. today in Regency Place. Mrs. Szekely retired from Value Land and was an employee at Shoppers Fair. She was born Dec. 31, 1913, in South Bend and was a lifelong area resident.

On Nov. 28, 1935, in South Bend, as Genevieve V. Radlowski, she married Theophil Kazmierczak. He died Nov. 9, 1982. On Aug. 29, 1989, she married Ernest Szekely. He survives, with a daughter, Diane Hostetter of Granger; a son, Daryl Kazmierczak of South Bend; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Doris Petrowski of South Bend and Irene Janiszewski of Osceola. She was a member of the Rosary Sodality and Harvest House, both of St. Adalbert's Catholic Church, and Polish Women's Democratic Club.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in the church. Entombment will be in Resurrection Gardens Mausoleum of St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in St. Joseph Funeral Home, where a parish rosary will be said at 7 p.m.
