Chester C. Szczypiorski, 79, died on
Friday, April 13, in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center.
He was born in South Bend, Ind., on Jan. 29,
1922, to Nicholas and Helen (Ratkowski) Szczypiorski, both
preceding him in death. He was also preceded in death by a
brother, Henry in 1967.
On Oct. 4, 1947, he married Louise Piechorowski,
who survives. He is also survived by a daughter, Cynthia (James) Levar;
two sons, Ronald (Beverly) and Randall (Betty), all of New
Carlisle, Ind.; and by seven grandchildren.
Mr. Szczypiorski had been a mechanic at
South Bend Freight, retiring from there in 1979, and also
retiring from farming. He was a member of St. Stanislaus Kostka
Catholic Church, Terre Coupee, American Legion 297, New Carlisle,
was a former treasurer of PNA #3078 and a member of Teamsters
364.
Memorial contributions may be made to the
New Carlisle Volunteer Ambulance Fund or to St. Stanislaus Kostka
Catholic Church. Family and friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. on
Monday, April 16, in the ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S.
Mayflower Road, South Bend, where a Rosary will be said at 5 p.m.
Services will be held at St. Stanislaus at 10 a.m. on Tuesday,
April 17, with entombment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery,
Resurrections Gardens.
