Rose A. Szabo

April 2, 1908 – March 4, 1988

Rose A. Szabo, 79, formerly of 513 E. Monroe St., died at 2:15am today in Carlyle Nursing Home.  Mrs. Szabo had been an employee of the former South Bend Toy Co.

She was born April 2, 1908, in Scranton PA, and had lived in South Bend since 1944.  On February 24, 1927, in Scranton, as Rose Voros, she married Julius Szabo.  He died in 1976.  She is survived by a daughter, Rosalie Trever of South Bend; two sons, Julius of Elkhart and John of South Bend; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and two sisters, Mary Chermak and Ethel Liskowski, both of Scranton.

Services will be at 10am Monday in Our Lady of Hungary Catholic Church.  Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. 

Friends may call from 2 to 9pm Sunday in St Joseph Funeral Home, where members of Legion of Mary will say the rosary at 7:15pm.  Mrs. Szabo was a member of Harvest House of the church.  Memorial contributions may be made to the St Joseph County Cancer Association.
