MISHAWAKA - Robert E. Szabo, 80, of Mishawaka, died at
4:20 a.m. Friday, November 28, 2008, in Memorial Hospital. Robert
was born April 9, 1928, in South Bend, to the late Joseph and
Agnes (Simon) Szabo. On June 2, 1990 in South Bend, he
married Catherine Louise Forsythe who survives. Also
surviving is a stepson, Eugene Forsythe of South Bend; two
cousins, Shirley (Ron) Bella of South Bend and Gene Toth
of South Bend. Robert proudly served his country in the United
States Army from 1950 to 1957, during the Korean War. Robert
retired form Allied-Signal Inc, as an inspector, after 42 years
of service. He was a very kind hearted man who enjoyed bicycling
and photography.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, December 1, in the Welsheimer Family Funeral Home, 521 N. William St., South Bend, where friends may visit with the family from 12 noon until the time of service. Entombment will follow at Highland Cemetery.
