Peter F. Szabo, 71, of 1821 S. Kendall St., died at 7:50 a.m. today in Memorial Hospital after an extended illness. He was a Bendix Corp. retiree. Born on Jan. 17, 1912, in South Bend, he was a lifetime area resident. On Feb. 10, 1962, in South Bend, he married Louise Wierzbinski who survives. He is also survived by a son, Richard Szabo of Rockford, Ill.; three step-sons, Ervin Wierzbinski of Dallas, Ralph Wierzbinski of Tulsa, Okla., and Jerome Wierzbinski of Fort Wayne; 11 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and six sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Horvath, Mrs. Mary Horvath, Mrs. Helen Dominillo, Mrs. Theresa Waelbroeck and Mrs. Katherine Benzur, all of South Bend, and Mrs. Anna Rowland of Westchester, Pa. Services will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Hungary Catholic Church, with Rev. Robert Mahoney, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Friday in the Zahoran Funeral Home. Rosaries will be recited in the funeral home at 3 p.m. by the neighborhood and at 7:15 p.m. by the St. Ann Society.
