SOUTH BEND - Joseph Swilo Sr., 52, of Lexington, Ky., formerly of South Bend, died Sunday in his home of natural causes.

Mr. Swilo retired as a field engineer from NCR in South Bend after 17 years. He was born Feb. 2, 1943, in Ozierawa, Poland. He is survived by his wife, Tyra Wolfe Swilo of Lexington; a daughter, Jennifer L. of Lexington; three sons, Joseph Jr., John E. and James A., all of Lexington; three grandchildren; his father, Peter Swilo of South Bend; and two sisters, Donna VanOoteghem of Mishawaka and Helen Knappenberger of Granger. He was a veteran of the Army.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Lexington. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home.
