NORTH LIBERTY - Nancee L. Swihart, 63, of 301 E. Center
St., passed away at 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 4, in Saint Joseph
Medical Center, South Bend, after an extended illness. She was
involved in the restaurant business for many years and was the
owner and manager of Nancee's Café and Catering of North Liberty
for several years. She was born Nov. 25, 1944, in Michigan City,
IN.
She was married to Ellis E. Swihart on Oct.
8, 1994, in Mishawaka, IN. He survives, along with two daughters,
Karla (Miller) Griffin of Sanwich, IL and Kristi (Zellers)
(Jim) Sabinas of North Liberty; two sons, Doug Miller of
Bremen and Steve Zellers stationed with the U.S. Marine Corps in
the Middle East. She is also survived by eight grandchildren,
J.D., Zachary, and Kyle Salazar, Jessi Miller, Mandy and
Stephen Sabinas and Trevor and Kessa Summers; and two
great-grandchildren, Rio James and Laney. A third
great-grandchild is expected. Also surviving is a lifelong
friend, Joyce Cook Bennitt of New Carlisle.
There will be visitation or services.
Cremation will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers,
memorial contributions may be made to the local chapter of the
American Heart Association. Arrangements are being handled by the
A.M. Manuel Funeral Home, North Liberty.
