Blanche I. Swihart, 86, of 2460 Don Carlos Avenue, Avon Park, Fla., formerly of North Liberty, Ind., passed away at 9:54 a.m. on Wednesday in her residence. Mrs. Swihart was born on October 8, 1912, in North Liberty, and resided in Avon Park, Fla., for the past 30 years, coming from North Liberty. Mrs. Swihart and her husband Claude were owners of Swihart Farm Store for many years in North Liberty. She was presently employed by Annett Tours for the past 22 years in Avon Park. As Blanche I. Sheneman she married Claude D. Swihart in North Liberty. He preceded her in death in 1974. She is survived by a daughter, Jane Pittman, and a son, Ellis Swihart of North Liberty. Also surviving are four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Visitation hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 7, in Fountain Funeral Home, 507 US #27, North Avon Park, Fla.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 8, in the funeral home in Avon Park. Rev. Bill Raymond of the First Christian Church, Avon Park, Fla., will officiate. Burial will take place at Sumption Prairie Cemetery in South Bend at a later date. Mrs. Swihart was a member of the Church of Christ in North Liberty. She also never missed a Sunday by attending the First Christian Church in Avon Park, Fla. The family would like all memorial contributions be made to the St. Joseph County-South Bend Cancer Society. The Hanley & Sons "Southwest Chapel" Funeral Home, South Bend, handled local arrangements and extend heartfelt sympathy to the family.
