SOUTH BEND – Peter Michael Swiental, 87, of North Olive Street, died at 5:30pm Monday in St Joseph’s Medical Center.  Mr. Swiental retired in 1971 form Hawthorn Mellody Milk Co after 18 years of service as a salesman.

He was born July 12, 1908, in Chicago and lived in South Bend since 19620.  On July 12, 1926, in South Bend, he married Jennie M. Walkowski.  She survives with a daughter, Linda Cintron of Cuernavaca, Mexico; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Two daughters, Roberta, died in 1927, and Betty Lou, died in 1928.  He was a member of St Stanislaus Catholic Church, American Legion Pulaski Post 357, and was a Navy veteran of World War II.

Services will be at 11am Thursday in the church.  Military services and burial will be in St Joseph Cemetery.  Friends may call from 2 to 8pm Wednesday in Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, where a rosary will be said at 3pm
