MISHAWAKA - Leland L. Sweeney, 69, of 1002 E. Marion St., died at 11:45 a.m. Monday in Applewood Health and Rehabilitation Center, Fort Wayne.
Mr. Sweeney retired in 1987 from Bendix Corp.
He was born June 1, 1925, in Arvilla, N.D., and lived in this area most of his life.
On March 24, 1951, in Roseland, he married Mary ''Muncie'' Blasko. She survives with a daughter, Theresa M. Weber of Mishawaka; a son, Jerome of Eugene, Ore.; two grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Haynes of Seminole, Okla.; and a brother, John ''Bob'' of Mishawaka.
He was a member of St. Monica Catholic Church. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in the church.
Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main St., where a wake will be at 7:45 p.m. Thursday.
