SOUTH BEND - Betty L. Swanson, 77, passed away Sunday, May 23,
2010, at 1:45 p.m. in Regency Place of South Bend. Betty was born
on December 22, 1932, in Marion, Indiana. She was preceded in
death by her parents, Lloyd and Lorena Everson, and two sons,
Donald Robert Shock Jr. and Kim Allen Shrock. Betty is survived
by four children, Kathy Evans of South Bend, Debbie (Brian)
Campoli of Mishawaka, Sherrie (Richard) Finton of Jefferson City,
Missouri, and Christian Ricker of Mishawaka. She also leaves
behind seven grandchildren, Jamison Shock of South Bend, Matthew,
Eli and Rachel Finton of Jefferson City, Missouri, Katie Campoli
of Brigantine, New Jersey, Jennifer (Ryan) Bradley of Mishawaka
and Stephanie Ricker of Mishawaka. She was also blessed with
several great-grandchildren. Betty retired from Memorial Hospital
where she cared for many people. She had a love for animals,
especially cats. Her hobbies included reading and collecting
dolls. Betty was fun-loving and had an incredible sense of humor.
There wasn't a year she didn't dress up for Halloween. No matter
how many years went by, her spirit always remained young. The
family would like to thank The Center for Hospice &
Palliative Care and Regency Place of South Bend for all of their

Mishawaka Ave., South Bend & Southlawn Cremation Services is
assisting Betty's family with cremation. By the request of Betty,
there will be no services. Contributions in Betty's honor may go
to Regency Place Activities Department, 52654 N. Ironwood, South
