Raymond H. Swank Sr., 82, of North Third Street, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away at 1:45 p.m. Monday, April 1, in the Saint Joseph Community Hospital, Mishawaka.

Ray was born Sept. 29, 1919, in Galien, Mich., to Howard and Stella May (Fisher), who both preceded him in death.

On Jan. 11, 1941, in South Bend, Raymond married Helois Lane, who died April 29, 1984. Raymond was also preceded in death by two daughters, Helois Reed and Mary Teeter. Raymond is survived by a son, Raymond H. "Sonny" (Wanda) Swank Jr. of Mishawaka; a daughter, Toni (Ted) Suddarth of Mishawaka; a sister, Dorothea Swank of Chicago, Ill.; and by his caregiver, Jerry Eichorst. Raymond has 22 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Friends called from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka. Funeral services will take place at 1 p.m. today in the Bubb Funeral Chapel North, with Rev. Steve Johnson officiating. Burial will take place at the Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka.
