Edmer Christian Suran, 87, died Friday, Oct. 18, in Kissimmee, Fla. He was born on Dec. 25, 1908, in Cathay, N.D. He lived in South Bend for 60 years, moving to Dowagiac, Mich. after retirement. He spent winters in Kissimmee.

He is survived by his wife, Cindy; two sons, Robert E. of Decatur, Ala. and Dar of South Bend; a daughter, Pat Winters of South Bend; four grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

Mr. Suran was employed by Studebaker Corporation for 33 years He retired from South Bend Water Treatment Plant in 1978, where he worked as a mechanic. He was a member of Berrien Center Bible Church.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 22, in the Hickey Funeral Home, 17131 Cleveland Rd., South Bend. Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, in the funeral home. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger.
