NORTH LIBERTY - Virginia (Beringer) Sult,
89, passed away on March 6, 2008 in her residence. Virginia was
born on June 24, 1918, near Crumstown, IN, to the late Edward and
Chrystal (Day) Beringer.
On September 11, 1940, she married Marcus J.
Sult of New Carlisle who passed away on November 20, 2003, after
63 years of marriage. She is survived by two children, Dennis G.
Sult and Darlene K. (Robert) Ralph, both of North Liberty;
granddaughter, Sarah (Sult) Humes and by a
great-granddaughter, Madeline Humes of South Bend. Virginia
graduated in 1936 from Greene High School. She was a member of
the Warren Township Fireman's Auxiliary for many years; and a
member of the "Chums Club" Since 1936. She truly loved
all animals and was a member of many animal organizations. For
many years, Virginia and Mark enjoyed their summer cabin on Black
Lake in Canada until 1996 when health problems prevented them
from making the long journey. Although bedridden since 1999,
Virginia never lost her smile and showed us all how one can enjoy
life with so many limitations. She always had her beloved dog
"Tippy" by her side, who made her quiet hours so
pleasant and comforting. She was entertained by watching the many
birds who came to the feeders outside her bedroom window. The
family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to her
loving caregivers and to The Center for Hospice and Palliative
Care.
Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday,
March 9 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, South
Bend. A Funeral Service will be celebrated on Monday, March 10 at
11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Crumstown
Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Pet Refuge Inc,
2300 W. 6th St., Mishawaka, IN 46544 or to The Center for Hospice
and Palliative Care, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637.
