Victor C. Sulok
SOUTH BEND - Victor C. Sulok, 83,
passed away at 12:15 p.m. Thursday, December 21, 2006, in Hospice
House. Victor was born on December 10, 1923, in South Bend, to
Frank and Mary (Nagy) Sulok. He retired in 1987 from
Sibley's where he had been employed for 44 years. Vic was a
charter member of St. Jude Catholic Church, a member of the
Ushers Club, the St. Vincent DePaul Society and the St. Augustine
Soup Kitchen. Mr. Sulok also was a World War II Army veteran,
serving in the Philippines. Vic was the ultimate family man who
loved to bowl and fish.
On August 15, 1948, in South Bend, he married the former Anita Retek,
who survives along with three daughters, Mary Anne (Dennis) Morris
of Ormond Beach, FL, Anita (Thomas) Baranowski of Lee's
Summit, MO, and Nancy (Richard Feingold) Sulok of Mishawaka;
three sons, Frederick (Judy) Sulok and Joseph Sulok, both of
South Bend, and Victor (Melanie) Sulok of Mishawaka; eight
grandchildren, Dennis M. Morris, Teresa Morris, Thomas
Baranowski, Tina Baranowski, Heather Sulok, Megan Sulok, Melissa
Sulok and Corinne Sulok; three great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn,
Nichole and Emily; and three sisters, Anna Woofter,
Margaret (Richard) Nelson and Rose (Al) Zmyslo, all
of South Bend. Vic was preceded in death by three sisters, Julia Wuergler,
Mary Vargo and Violet Bradway; and three brothers,
Charles Sulok, Andrew Sulok and Joseph Sulok.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m.
Wednesday, December 27, 2006, in St. Jude Catholic Church. Burial
will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Family and friends may call
from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, December 26th, in the
Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 S. Kemble Avenue, where a Rosary will
be recited at 3:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St.
Jude Catholic Church or to Hospice of St. Joseph County.
