Anna Elizabeth Sullivan, 85, of
Carriage Manor Nursing Home, Goshen, Ind., formerly of South
Bend, Ind., passed away at 3:05 p.m. on Sunday, March 12, in the
manor. She was born on March 15, 1914, in South Bend, to George
and Ora Anna (Sanborn) Slocum. On Nov. 25, 1934,
she married John Wesley Sullivan. He preceded her in death on
Feb. 1, 1981. She was also preceded in death by a daughter,
Connie Phyllis in 1936; and by two sisters, Mary Moore and
Virginia Hostetter. She worked many years for Winey's
Dress Shop in Mishawaka, Ind. She was a graduate of Riley High
School. She was a long time member of the Milburn Boulevard
Church of Christ in Mishawaka, and the Elkhart Church of Christ,
Elkhart, Ind. She had most recently attended the White Pigeon
Church of Christ in White Pigeon, Mich. She is survived by two
daughters, Opal (Don) Fleck of Greenville, S.C., and Norma
(Gary) Modlin of Middlebury, Ind.; four grandchildren and
five great-grandchildren; a sister, Lucille Hanna of
Ligonier, Ind.; and by a brother, Rollin of Elkhart.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 15, in the FOREST G. HAY FUNERAL HOME. Pastor Ed Erskine of the Northway Church of Christ, South Bend, and Pastor Barry Edds of the White Pigeon Church of Christ, White Pigeon, will officiate. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home located on Ironwood and Jefferson. Memorial contributions may be made to the Michiana Christian Services Camp, Niles, Mich.
