SOUTH BEND - Paul E. Stuckman, 84, of South Bend, passed away at 3:20 pm, Wednesday, November 26, 2008 in Memorial Hospital. Paul was born on January 16, 1924 in Nappanee, IN to the late James and Pearl (Strode) Stuckman. On June 6, 1942 in New Paris, IN, he married LaVeta Weaver. She passed away on December 6, 1996. He is also preceded in death by one daughter, Paula Jenkins and four siblings. Paul is survived by two daughters, Kathy (Greg) Jesensky of New Carlisle and Rebecca (Don) Gross of South Bend, ten grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers, Phil Stuckman and John Franklin Stuckman and two sisters, Maryhelen and Margaret. Paul proudly served his country during WWII in the U.S. Army and fought in the Northern France. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post 1167. He worked for the downtown Gates Chevy as a salesman for many years. He recently worked as a delivery man for Tusley's Pharmacy until retirement. He enjoyed CB Radio's and his handle was "Baldy". He loved his wife LaVeta and their toy poodles, Peppi, Teddy and Daisy. He later began to enjoy aquariums, as he was home more, he also enjoyed watching the Kentucky Derby and going to the Blue Chip Casino. His unique personality made him a great storyteller, which kept his grandkids laughing. He was a very giving and generous man that will not be forgotten and for that he will receive many blessings. His favorite saying was "You mess with the bull, you get the horns!"

 

Visitation will be from 1:00 to 3:00 pm, Tuesday, December 2, 2008 in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola, with two hour of visitation prior to the service. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. A luncheon will be held at 4:00 pm in V.F.W. Post 1167, 1047 L.W.E., South Bend. Memorial contributions may be sent to the family.
