Mrs. Violet
Maxson Stroup
Mrs. Violet Maxson Stroup, aged 30, of 1901 North
Lynn street, died in St. Joseph hospital, at 7:15 p.m. Thursday of pneumonia
following childbirth. She was born in Buchanan, Mich., June 10, 1911, and
moved to Mishawaka from there 11 years ago. She was married in Buchanan to
Louis R. Stroup, who survives. Five children, Leona Ruth, Louis Richard,
Donald, Dale and Darrell, all at home; three sisters in South Bend, Mrs. R.T.
Moody, Mrs. Irene Stroup, and Mrs. Letha Woodhurst and her foster parents, Mr.
and Mrs. John Platz, of Buchanan, survive. The body may be viewed in the
Orvis funeral chapel, South Bend, after 7 p.m. today. The funeral will
take place in the Second Church of the Brethren, South Bend, at 3 p.m. Sunday
with Rev. Edward Stump officiating and burial will take place in Memorial Park
cemetery. The body will lie in the church from 8 a.m. Sunday until the
hour of the funeral.
