LOUIS R. STROUP

2000
Louis Raymond Stroup, 91, residing on Pierce Road,
Lakeville, IN; passed away at 10:50 p.m. Friday, December 22, 2000, in Miller's
Merry Manor Nursing Home, Plymouth, IN. Mr. Stroup was born May 12, 1909,
in Warren Township, IN, as the son of the late William and Mable Price Stroup,
and had lived in this community all of his life, except for six years that he
resided in Wisconsin. In 1930, in Buchanan, MI, he married Violet Maxson,
who passed away in 1942. Then on April 30, 1949, in Lakeville, IN, he
married Della V. Bunch Plummer. She survives. Also surviving is a
daughter, Ruth White of Stamford, CT; six sons, John Stroup and Darrell Stroup,
both of South Bend, Daniel Stroup of Indianapolis, William Stroup of Lakeville,
Donald Stroup of Pahrump, Nevada, and Dale Stroup of Huntington Beach, CA.
He is also survived by nineteen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren and
three great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons,
Richard Stroup in 1996 and James Stroup in August 2000; two grandchildren and
one great-grandchild.
Mr. Stroup was a member and elder emeritus
at Grace Brethren Church, Osceola, where he was also extremely active with
various committees, including Secretary and financial committee, and served as a
Sunday School Teacher. He was a 1927 graduate of South Bend Business
College. He retired in 1979 following 13 years of service at Sander's
Lumber Company in South Bend.
Services for Mr. Louis R. Stroup
will be at noon, Wednesday, December 27, in Grace Brethren Church, 58343 Apple
Road, Osceola. Rev. Scott Distler, pastor, will officiate. Burial
will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. The family will
receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. today in the Palmer Funeral Home, 314 South
Michigan Street, Lakeville, IN.

Stroup's memory may be offered to Grace Brethren Church,
Osceola.
