MISHAWAKA - Harry B. Stroobandt, 79, of 1309 Berkley Court, died yesterday afternoon in Medco Center, South Bend, after an illness.He was a foreman with Studebaker and Avanti Motor Corporations. He was born March 17, 1907 in Zaffelarger, Belgium, and had lived in Mishawaka since 1920. On Aug. 15, 1925, in St. Joseph, he married the former Zelma Simone Vervaet. She survives with two daughters, Mary Jo O’Neil of Mishawaka and Patricia Kent of Sugarland, Texas; a son, Jack of Simpsonville, S.C.; 15 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Bavo’s Catholic Church. Entombment will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in Hahn’s DeVos Funeral Home, where the rosary will be recited at 7:45 pm.
