Mrs. Virgie Strong

August 13, 1890 – September 13, 1972

Mrs. Virgie Strong, 82, of 1342 E. Bissell St., died at 1:30pm Wednesday in her residence after a seven week illness.

She was born August 13, 1890, in Sharkey Co MS, and had lived here five years, coming from Greenwood MS.  In 1950, she was married to Charlie Strong in Jonestown MS.  He preceded her in death.  Surviving are two daughters Mrs. F. D. Johnson, with whom Mrs. Strong resided, and Mrs. Martha Harris of Chicago; a grandchild, five great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Jimme Cutchlow of Kansas City KS.

Friends may call fro 3 to 9pm Sunday in Clark’s Funeral Chapel.  Services will be held at 1pm Monday in Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, of which Mr. Strong was a member, Rev. Samuel Chase, pastor of the Second Baptist Church, officiating.  Burial will be in Highland Cemetery.
