South Bend, IN - John C. Strom
, 91, a lifelong resident of South Bend, passed away at 5:40 a.m. on Thursday, March 9, 2006, in the St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, South Bend from natural causes. Mr. Strom was born on September 23, 1914, in South Bend, to the late Clarence and Ema (Newman) Snyder. In 1942, in South Bend, he married the former Marion Hartman who preceding him in death on April 6, 1974.
Mr. Strom retired as the officer manager from Sibley Machine and Foundry Corporation after 29 years of employment. He served his country during World War II with the United States Army, where he was a recipient of the Purple Hear. Mr. Strom was a member of the Disabled American Veterans.
Mr. Strom is survived by his wife, Charlotte Salyer, with whom he has made his home for 32 years; on son J. Gregory Strom of Indianapolis; two step-sons Don (Pati) Salyer and Doug (Paula) Salyer, both of South Bend; eight grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and one sister Ninna Gardner of South Bend.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Monday, March 13, , 2006, in the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan Street, South Bend. Rev. Ed. Erskin, pastor of Northway Church of Christ, will officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend. Friends
may visit with the family two hours prior to services in the funeral home on Monday.

SOUTH BEND - John C. Strom, 91, died Thursday in Saint joseph Regional Medical Center of natural causes. Survivors include his wife, charlotte (Slayer); a son J. Gregory of Indianapolis; two stepsons, Don Salyer and Doug Salyer, of South Bend; and a sister, Minna Gardner of South Bend. Services will be at 3 p.m. Monday in Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan St. where friends may call two hours before services.
