Esther Margaret Strombeck

Esther M. Strombeck, 82, of East 4th Street in Mishawaka, Ind., died Wednesday, May 28, in the Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka. She was born in Mishawaka on Feb. 13, 1921, to George E. and Lulu L. (Kronewitter) Christian, who preceded her in death. Esther was also preceded in death by her sister, Helen L. Johnson in 1993; and by her son, Thomas Strombeck on March 7, 2003.

She had worked at Mishawaka City Hall where she met her husband Leslie, and then was a homemaker for her family. Esther married Leslie E. Strombeck in Mishawaka on Sept. 4, 1943. Leslie died Dec. 5, 1994. Mrs. Strombeck is survived by her sons, John E. and Jeffrey E. Strombeck, both of Mishawaka; two grandsons, Sherwin and Daniel Strombeck; and by her daughter-in-law, Nancy Strombeck of Dallas, Texas.

Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, May 31, in the Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home, with Pastor Brad Windlan officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
