Charlotte C. Strohm

Charlotte C. Strohm of Mishawaka, Ind., passed away on Sunday, July 27, in Southfield Village, South Bend, Ind.

She was born in South Bend, the oldest of seven children born to Albert John and Cecilia (Mormon) Raab. In January 1943 she was united in marriage to Erhart A. Strohm, and they made their home in Mishawaka. Erhart was the president and owner of McKinley True Value Lumber and Hardware Company. For many years the Strohms enjoyed wintering at their oceanside residence in Vero Beach, Fla. Charlotte was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church and the Morris Park Country Club.

She was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Joseph Malia, a graduating senior at the University of Notre Dame who was killed in a car accident in 1960; her husband, Erhart in 2001; three sisters, Jane Barner, Rose Trenerry and Irene Berta; and by two brothers, Charles Raab and Albert John Raab.

Surviving family includes two daughters, Anna Marie Robinson of Columbus, Ohio, and Patricia Rose McIntee of Mishawaka; a sister, Angeline Goeller of Donaldson, Ind.; a sister-in-law, Rose Mary Raab of Edwardsburg, Mich.; five grandchildren, Timothy McIntee of Santa Fe, N.M., Christine Probst, Brian McIntee and Colin McIntee, all of South Bend, and Kelly McIntee of Niles, Mich.; 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday in the Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home, 503 W. Third St., Mishawaka, where a prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 4508 Vistula Road, Mishawaka, Rev. Fr. Richard Hire officiating. Friends may also call one hour prior to the Mass in church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, Ind.
