SOUTH BEND - Roxie June (Roush) Street, 73, of Quartz Hills, CA,
passed away peacefully on December 9, 2009. She was born in South
Bend, IN, on January 11, 1936, to the late John and Lucille
Roush. She graduated from New Carlisle High School in 1954. She
and Howard M. Street were married on June 11, 1955, in South
Bend, IN. She worked for many years at Otto & Sons Sporting
Goods Store in Coldwater, MI. In 2002 Roxie and Howard moved
permanently to Quartz Hill, CA. Roxie stayed busy traveling and
sharing her time between her grandchildren in Coldwater, MI, and
California She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter
1, in Coldwater MI, and Valley View Church of the Nazarene in
Quartz Hills, CA. She is survived by her husband of 54 years,
Howard, Quartz Hill CA; son and daughter-law, John and Renee
Street, Bakersfield, CA; son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and
Karen Street, Coldwater, MI; daughter and son-in-law, Lori and
Brian Moore, Quartz Hill, CA; sister, Peggy Ritschard of South
Bend, IN; eight grandchildren, Rachel, Michael, Benjamin, Jason,
Riley, Wendy, Brandon and Sean; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She leaves us with fond memories of her special holiday dinners,
jams, legendary pies, and her special red velvet cake. Along with
the memories with Roxie, include trips to the Florida Everglades,
mushroom hunting in Mesick, MI, and many trips to the warm
beaches of Southern California. Roxie will always be cherished in
the hearts of her family. She may be gone, but she certainly
isn't forgotten -- and never will be. Services are private at the
family's request. A heartfelt thank you to the staff of
Antelope Valley Hospital, Antelope Valley Care Center and to
Antelope Valley Hospice.
