Rose Strebinger, 96, of Avon Lake,
Ohio, formerly of S. Taylor Street, South Bend, Ind., passed away
at 1 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 14, in her residence. Mrs. Strebinger
was born on April 10, 1904, in Hungary, to Anton and Ethel Winkler.
On May 12, 1928, in South Bend, as Rose
Winkler, she married Carl J. Strebinger, who died on Sept. 22,
1981. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Carl J.
Strebinger; a sister, Ethel Haas; and by a brother,
Anthony Winkler. She is survived by a son, Carl F. (Helen)
Strebinger of Avon Lake; two grandchildren, Susan (Kevin A.) Brinkman
of Austin, Texas, and Sandra (Dennis J.) Britton of Avon
Lake; three great-grandchildren, Kevin C. Brinkman, Noel A.
(Jill) Brinkman and Trevor C. Britton; two sisters, Mary Scheu
and Margaret (John) Altice, both of South Bend; and by a
sister-in-law, Esther Winkler of South Bend.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be
celebrated at 10 a.m. today, Oct. 18, in Our Lady of Hungary
Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. Family
and friends called from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 17, in the
Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 S. Kemble Avenue. Memorial
contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
