SOUTH BEND - Services for Robert L.
Strebinger, 96, of North Elliott Street, who died at 2:20
a.m. Wednesday in Memorial Hospital, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday
in Holy Cross Catholic Church. Burial will be in Highland
Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in
Hickey Funeral Home, 17131 Cleveland Road, where a parish rosary
will be said at 4 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to
Muscular Dystrophy Association.
Mr. Strebinger retired in 1967 as an
experimental automotive engineer for Bendix Corp. after 45 year
of service. He was born Feb. 26, 1900, in Austria and lived in
South Bend since 1913.
On Sept. 5, 1936, in South Bend, he married
Mary Kraley Mayerhoefer. She died Aug. 22, 1970. He is
survived by two daughters, Mary Louise Heinrich of
Indianapolis and Genevieve Strebinger of South Bend; a son,
Robert C. of South Bend; 13 grandchildren; 13
great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a
brother, Richard R. of South Bend.
He was a member of St. John the Baptist
Catholic Church, a charter member of Retirees Club of the church,
member of Bendix Senior Management Club and DFV German Club.
