Genevieve Evelyn Strebinger, 74, of South Bend, died Wednesday in Our Lady of Peace in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center. She was born May 1, 1927, in South Bend. Her parents Robert Leo and Mary Strebinger preceded her in death along with her birth mother, Lillian Higbee. Surviving is a sister, Mary Louise Heinrich of Indianapolis and a brother, Robert Carl Strebinger of South Bend. She was also adored by many nieces and nephews. Genevieve retired from Indiana University at South Bend as a secretary for many years in the Career and Placement office.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, South Bend. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday in the HICKEY Funeral Home, 17131 Cleveland Road, 289-1000, where a rosary will be said at 4 p.m. in the funeral home. Genevieve was a member of St. John the Baptist Church and its altar and rosary society. Memorials may be made to the Center for the Homeless, 813 S. Michigan, South Bend, IN 46601.
