H. Frank Strasser of Bend, Ore., died Saturday, Sept. 28. He was 78.
A funeral service was held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Sunriver, Ore.
Mr. Strasser was born June 11, 1924, in White County, Ind. he married Veronica Goepfrich on Oct. 2, 1944 in Norfolk, Va.
He served in the Navy during World War II and earned the rank of Seaman 1st Class.
Mrs. Strasser was a test driver for the Studebaker Corporation. He also owned and operated a service station, a restaurant, a tavern and a construction company in Indiana and Southern California. He owned a trailer park in Tucson, Ariz. Mr. Strasser retired in 1973 and moved to Bend. He enjoyed restoring old cars and traveling in his motor home.
Survivors include his wife of Bend; two sons, David and Donald, both of Bend; two daughters, Elizabeth McMuldren and Myra Huddleston, both of Bend; two brothers, Wayne and Paul, both of South Bend, Ind.; four sisters, Thelma Greenwood, Maxine Brown, Mary Papczynski and Ruth Whitesell, all of South Bend; eight grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Clay Strasser, Jr., Harold Strasser and Art Strasser; and a sister, Gladys Kintz.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 12, 2002, at Holy Family Catholic Church, South Bend.
Niswonger, Reynolds and Tabor Funeral Home, handled the arrangements in Bend.
