MISHAWAKA - Samuel J. Strang, 81, of Miller Court, died at 8:45 a.m. Sunday in his home after an illness. Mr. Strang retired in 1973 as co-owner of Power Brake & Spring Co., South Bend, after 42 years of service. He was born Jan. 30, 1913, in LaPaz and lived in Mishawaka for three years, coming from Tippecanoe.
On April 7, 1934, in South Bend, he married Mary Jane Norris. She died in 1988. He is survived by a daughter, Betty J. Holmes of Mishawaka; a son, Robert E. of North Liberty; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Amanda Barnett of Orlando, Fla.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main St. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County Inc.
