OSCEOLA - Ruth E. Strang, 94, of Azle, TX, formerly of Osceola, IN, passed away at 11:45 AM Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at Silver Creek Place, Azle, TX. Ruth was born on January 26, 1916 in Eau Claire, MI to John and Emma (Priefer) Glassman moving to Osceola, IN in 1944, then to Texas January 2006. On June 29, 1934 in South Bend, IN she married Rex Strang, who preceded her in death on December 25, 1977. Mrs. Strang is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jill and Larry Barrett of Mishawaka and their two children; and her son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Beverly Strang of Azle, TX and their four children; thirty great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; and her brother, John Glassman of Eau Claire, MI. Ruth was a dedicated homemaker and served as a missionary in the Philippines and Nepal. She was a former member of Christian Center Church, South Bend and a member of Pleasant Valley United Church of Christ, Osceola. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, May 3, 2010 at Pleasant Valley United Church of Christ, 10955 Edison Road, Osceola, IN 46561. Pastor Linda Roher and Pastor Steve Sumrall will officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow in Eden Cemetery, Topeka, IN. Friends may visit with the family from 6:00 - 8:00 PM Sunday in Palmer Funeral Home-River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Ave, South Bend and from 9-10 AM Monday at Pleasant Valley United Church of Christ.
