Alberta P. Stouffer

Alberta P. Stouffer, 82, residing at
1330 E. Washington, South Bend, Ind., passed away at 9 p.m.
Monday, May 26, in St. Joseph's Medical Center, South Bend. Mrs.
Stouffer was co-owner of Stouffer Industries in South Bend. She
was born on July 24, 1914 in South Bend, to the late Jacob A. and
Emma P. Fischer. Mrs. Stouffer had lived in the South Bend area
her entire life.
In May of 1934 as Alberta Fischer,
she married David S. Stouffer, who preceded her in death on June
2, 1988. Surviving are one daughter; Phyllis Hamel of
South Bend; four sons, Roger D. Stouffer and John D. Stouffer,
both of South Bend, William G. Stouffer of Medina, Ohio, and
Tracy Stouffer of Alaska; 11 grandchildren; 20
great-grandchildren; and one sister-in-law, Marion E. Currier of
South Bend. One daughter, Joann Baumgardner, preceded her
in death in May of 1989.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m.
Thursday, May 29, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, South Bend, with
Father Donald Dilg officiating. Entombment will follow in
Riverview Cemetery, South Bend. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m.
today in Hollis-Orvis-Palmer Funeral Home, 2528 Mishawaka Ave.,
South Bend. Mrs. Stouffer had been a member of St. Joseph
Catholic Church in South Bend since 1942. Memorial contributions
may be given to the American Cancer Society. Hollis-Orvis-Palmer
Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
