SOUTH BEND - Alton Earl Stine, 86, of St. Paul's Retirement Community, died Saturday 2 in Green Bay, Wis., after an illness. Mr. Stine retired from School City of Mishawaka as a teacher. Mr. Stine was born June 8, 1909, in Adel, Iowa.

On Nov. 26, 1936, in North Manchester, he married Cathryn L. Weddle. She survives with two sons, Lowell D. of Mishawaka and Dr. Harold E. of DePere, Wis.; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a sister, Mabel Hill of Minburn, Iowa; and two brothers, Wilbur of North Manchester and Arthur of New Castle, Ind.

Memorial services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in Christian Reformed Church, South Bend. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. There will be no visitation. Chapel Hill Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the church mission fund.
